Well, I took on Facebook. I took on the big boys….and I lost! 🙁 I tried and tried and tried. I spent hours designing photo combinations with text to advertise our high tea fundraiser. But each time I posted the poster and tried to boost the post, Nasty FB Admin kept rejecting it. After all my efforts, I felt like screaming at the FB page – “I’m trying to promote a fundraising, charity event! It’s for other people!”. But FB wasn’t listening! Pooh to you FB! 😉
So I decided to change the game plan. Instead of a one-off event (that I couldn’t advertise online – thanks for nothing FB!), I decided to have a cake each week that we could sell and donate the funds of to the wonderful Hamlin Fistula Clinic in Ethiopia. And what better way to donate money than by eating cake!!! 🙂
Here are photos of our last week’s cake: Raspberry and White Chocolate Mud Cake:
And this week’s scummy offering is a carrot cake with cream cheese filling. Errr – yummy!
We’ll keep you posted on cake offerings as the week’s go by! Tweet!
Friday, 3/10/14:
I’m very happy to report that with just a week and a half of fundraising cakes on offer, we’ve raised almost $50 dollars! That’s great and a lot of cake being enjoyed. Well done! Keep munching them tweets, Peeps!!
Now for next week’s cake….I’m thinking…. Hummingbird cake? Scrumptious banana bread? Chocolate Tahini Cake with caramel sauce. Hmmmm, too many choices! Any ideas? Throw ’em my way!

Our Hamlin Fistula Clinic fund raiser cake for this week is a scrumptious Hummingbird Cake with Birdseed’s vegan chocolate caramel sauce. The cake is dairy-free and nut-free as well as gluten free (naturally, of course!). Scumptiously yummy!
